Loot Goblins for PocketQuest 2024

Created by DriveThruRPG and partnered with the Storytelling Collective, PocketQuest is the TTRPG equivalent of a Game Jam. Having only existed for the last couple of years, I feel very fortunate to have found it now. I don't know why I felt the draw to join in, honestly. Just jumping into an industry I very much respect was a scary concept for me to wrap my head around, especially with so many other projects bouncing around in my head. But I did.

Seeing the Storytelling Collective promote it and announce their involvement was definitely a major reason I joined. The event's organizers made it clear that while this event was for everyone, they were taking special care to create an environment for first-time publishers to learn on the go and have any questions answered. To that effect, they did a beautiful job.

Now, here I am, standing as a fresh new TTRPG developer who is waiting for the first physical proof copy of their work. It's hard to believe, but I made a TTRPG from scratch in 2 months. What's more, I've heard nothing but nice things from people who are playing it. Taking part in PocketQuest 2024 and making Loot Goblins is thus far my proudest moment of 2024. My only regret was being so focused on learning and writing that I didn't think to record my process to post here later. Something for next year, I'm certain.

This image depicts a whimsical fantasy-themed book cover titled "LOOT GOBLINS." At the top, the title is written in large, green, cartoonish letters against a brick wall background. In the top left corner above the title, there is a circle logo with the words "Michael's Mind Online Presents" encircling the outside of the logo. Below the title, various weapons, such as arrows and a bomb, are flying through the air. In the foreground, three goblin characters are seen in a comical escape with one of them clutching a sack that is spilling gold coins. The goblin in the middle is wearing a hat nervouslly clutching a set of keys. The one in the back is dragging a large sack with the text "POCKET QUEST" on it, advertising the event this cover was made for.The art style is playful and colorful with an emphasis on action and humor. At the bottom is text in a dark blue box that says "Purchase Here".
